People & Culture team deliver 100th virtual managing people session
In May 2020 Global Energy Group confirmed our commitment to continuing to create opportunities for our people with the launch of our “virtual” Managing People programme. Fast forward to November 2020 and we have now delivered over 100 sessions reaching 844 participants.
The programme provides engaging learning experiences aimed to unlock potential and enable our leaders to grow. The modules are focused around a number of key leadership topics including self-awareness, leading change, managing remotely and supporting employee wellbeing.
Christine Cochrane, People and Culture Director commented “As we continue to transition into other sustainable energy markets, the development and transfer of skills is fundamental to the future success of our business. We need to, not only nurture and develop our existing workforce, but demonstrate that we are the employer of choice for attracting talent. I am proud to be part of organisation that is so dedicated to developing its people, even during the harder times, the Groups commitment hasn’t faltered.
Christine added “We hope that by the end of the programme our managers will be able to understand themselves better, understand their teams better and identify and apply ways to develop their high performing teams”.
Leanne Mutch, Talent and Leadership Partner commented “It’s been a real pleasure and privilege connecting with so many of our supervisors and managers across the business. I hope they have been enjoying the sessions as much as I have delivering them! The participants’ energy, contributions and commitments to growing their leadership throughout the sessions has been great to see. I look forward to seeing them continue to put their learning into action in the future.”
As we move forward the P&C team will continue to partner with the business to deliver the managing people programme and launch further programmes to identify and develop talent at all levels of the organisation.
