Estimator (Nord Centre, Aberdeen)
Global Energy (Group) Ltd are a service focused, performance driven business, offering construction, maintenance and enhancement solutions to a diverse range of energy industry customers. They are currently recruiting for an Estimator for their South Fabrication Division in Aberdeen to assist the business into future works and technologies.
Hours: 40 Hours per week. However, working flexibility is required. Pay subject to Qualification and experience

Job Purpose & Objective
The role of Estimator is responsible for receipt, control, preparation and estimating of all enquiries and invitation to tender done in such a manner as to ensure an effective and timeous response to prospective clients. The Estimator must support in the overall delivery of Global Energy Groups business objectives through the aligning of deliverables to that of the individual Business Unit strategy.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
- Establishing good working relationships with all managers and supervisors to ensure that information is readily available so that all enquiries and tenders can be responded to efficiently.
- Acting as a liaison between the company and client for the purpose of clarification of tenders/enquiries.
- The receipt, distribution and disposition of all enquiries and invitations to tender received by the fabrication facility including:
- Registering receipt of all enquiries/tenders on the bid register and arranging correct distribution.
- Estimating the cost of all enquiries /tenders received by the fabrication facility utilising a spreadsheet format.
- Accurately costing of enquiries/tenders and passing relevant information onto management for decision whether to bid or not based upon customer requirements and company capability.
- Ensure work productivity is carried out in a cost-conscious manner
Experience, Qualification and Attributes:
Preferred
- Experience of using and manipulating computer based estimating models
- Experience in compiling and presenting tender responses
Mandatory
- A Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent estimating experience within engineering or fabrication
Personal Development
- Undertake agreed training and development in order to provide a framework of knowledge and skills required to perform effectively in the team/department/business unit demonstrating ongoing competency required in role.
- Participate in annual and regular performance appraisal with relevant supervisor and/or manager, identifying and agreeing objectives and targets in relation to personal development.
