Sue Jane Taylor, artist in residence, arrives at Port of Nigg
Having studied at the Slade School of Art, Sue began her life as an artist many years ago. She has always had a passion, not only for the highlands but for the Energy Industry, she remembers as a child watching some of the assets built at Nigg being loaded out through the Souters and during the 1980’s she even spent some time sketching some of them.
Today, Nigg is a very different facility and Sue is delighted to have the opportunity to be on site during a time where there is cross sector activity taking place.
Whilst Sue is on site, she will not only be sketching and painting some of the projects and people that are coming and going, but would also like to do some audio interviews to create sound bites about what life at Nigg is like for the University of Aberdeen Oil Lives oral archives collection.
