New Operations Manager and Production Manager appointed in Global Energy Group Fabrication at the Port of Nigg

Norman MacSween has been appointed as the new Operations Manager and Jimmy Sutherland as the new Production Manager, for Global Energy Group's Fabrication Division (North) based at the Port of Nigg.

Norman MacSween brings twenty-years of engineering and fabrication project management experience and is ideally suited to drive operational success and efficiencies within the business. Throughout his career, Norman has demonstrated a strong ability to manage the execution of complex fabrication projects and lead all associated operational processes.

Having been with the GEG for over 11-years, he has progressed from Project Engineer through to Operations Manager and will be responsible for managing all aspects of project delivery from planning and draughting to production and testing. Norman will also ensure that all works are executed in a safe and efficient manner, whilst driving continuous improvement and development throughout the business.

Jimmy Sutherland will be taking on the position of Production Manager, having previously held the posts of Facility Superintendent and Facility Manager during his 16-year tenure at GEG. He has consistently managed the delivery of projects on time and within budget, while meticulously meeting client specifications and holding a stringent emphasis to health & safety.

As part of Jimmy’s new role, he will be responsible for assessing project and resource requirements, ensuring compliance of QHSE documents and procedures, whilst also tracking production schedules and costs. Coordinating the allocation of multi-trade disciplines is also the responsibility of the Production Manager, while ensuring personnel are suitably trained and qualified for their role.
