Global Energy Group supports Inverness Castle Experience with Journey Stone
Global Energy Group is proud to support the Inverness Castle Experience by funding the creation of the Journey Stone, a striking and symbolic feature within the castle gardens. This landmark has been commissioned to represent the gateway to the Highlands, welcoming visitors to begin - or conclude - their journey through the region.
The Journey Stone, crafted from static steel-cut panels mounted into Caithness stone, forms a dynamic ‘open doorway’ effect symbolising transition and new beginnings, surrounded by benches offering panoramic views of Inverness.
Roy MacGregor, Chairman of Global Energy Group, shared:
“We’re delighted to support the Inverness Castle Experience and the Journey Stone project. As a proud Highlander, I believe there’s no better way to celebrate the rich heritage and beauty of our region than by creating a welcoming landmark for visitors.
“The Highlands and its people have a unique spirit, and this project highlights the importance of honouring that. We’re thrilled that Global Energy Group can play a part in ensuring future generations experience this incredible region.”
Cllr Ian Brown, Leader of Inverness City and Area and Co-chair of the Inverness Castle Project Delivery Group, commented:
“We are immensely grateful to Global Energy Group for their financial support in making our Journey Stone a reality. It’s a wonderful place to begin or conclude your journey - whether you’re taking in the breathtaking views of Inverness, capturing memories with photos, or simply enjoying a moment.”
The Inverness Castle Experience, set to open in 2025, represents a £30 million investment supported by the Scottish and UK Governments, The Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and other partners.
Global Energy Group is proud to support this transformative project, reinforcing its commitment to the Highlands and its communities while celebrating a region rich in heritage and opportunity.
