Global Energy Group are delighted to welcome Tim Cornelius as Group Chief Executive

Global Energy Group (“GEG”) have today announced the upcoming appointment of Tim Cornelius in the role of Group Chief Executive.


Tim who will report directly to Chairman, Roy MacGregor will be responsible for group financial performance, group strategy and transition management from a hydrocarbon to a low-carbon business focus.

Tim was appointed a Non-Executive Director of the Group in early January 2020 and has spent many years as a customer, advisor and public advocate for establishing the Port of Nigg as the UK’s leading renewables hub. Previously, he has spent the past 15 years as CEO of SIMEC Atlantis Energy.

Tim extensive energy sector experience began in the oil & gas industry as a commercial diver and ROV pilot before moving into a marine renewables post MBA in 2000. He has developed a reputation for successfully raising funding for and delivering on renewable energy projects in the UK and abroad and is a prominent and well-established figure in financial markets around the world.

Tim was recently recognised with a life-time achievement award by Scottish Renewables for outstanding contribution to the growth of the Scottish renewable energy sector over the past decade. He is well connected politically across Scottish, Westminster and European governments and has deep sector knowledge in offshore renewables, oil & gas, waste-to-energy, hydropower and the emerging hydrogen sector.

Tim is delighted at the new challenge ahead and looking forward to his new role within the Group.
