First rig arrives at Nigg Oil Terminal Jetty
Last night we welcomed the first jack-up rig to berth at the Nigg Terminal Jetty where it will lay up while awaiting it’s next contract.
The rig safely pinned its legs down at around 7:30 pm after being maneuverer into position with the assistance Caledonian Towage’s Strathdon harbour tug.
Global Energy Group took over the lease and operation of the jetty on the 28th February this year, and there has already been a lot of interest in using the deep water facility.
They plan on utilising the jetty as an extension of the Port of Nigg berthing capability, and are hopeful that further vessels will utilise the facility in the coming weeks and months.
