Thank you to Highlands and Islands Enterprise and guest speaker, Rory Gunn, for the update on Nigg Energy Park. With Global Energy Group’s significant investment at the site which was supported by funding by HIE, the Park has successfully diversified to satisfy the current market needs of both Oil and Gas and Renewable projects within the Energy Sector.
Opened in 1972, the Nigg facility was established as a fabrication site for large jackets and topside modules for the emerging Oil and Gas industry in the North Sea, however since its purchase by Global Energy Group in 2011, Nigg Energy Park has been transformed into a multi user Energy Park utilised to support various Clients and project needs.
With the brand new deep water, high ground loading capacity quayside, together with one of the largest dry docks in Europe, Nigg Energy Park now offers a wide ranging suit of services at a world class facility coupled with a dedicated, skilled and capable workforce able to react to and support our Client’s needs.
Nigg Energy Park will continue to be at the heart of the industry in the Highlands and Islands, providing facilities and services to clients across the globe.
