Industry body, Oil and Gas UK, held its fourth annual conference at the AECC on the 6th June and Global Energy Group took part to unveil its innovative approach to industry collaboration.
As the industry continues to call out for better collaboration in order to optimise efficiency, Global Energy Group has reacted with the offering of two unique approaches for the Oil and Gas industry.
While the industry sector continues to pursue it’s growing appetite for addressing Late Life and Decommissioning projects in the UKCS, Global Energy Group has advanced on its existing success in Integrity services offering and teamed up with Global service leaders, Veolia and Petersons, to offer a true UK EPRD decommissioning option.
This contractual tri-partite agreement gives Operators the option of a EPRD offering that is not lead by the HLV contractor but by the Environmental/Waste Management contractor. Veolia are the lead contractor with Global Energy Group and Peterson being exclusive sub-contractors to Veolia. The tri-party assess the removal methodology and engage with the suitable HLV contractor(s) for removal.
Along with this, Global Energy Group have also responded to the offshore asset wide issue of caisson related problems by creating the Integrated Caisson Team (ICT).
In an industry where Innovation and Collaboration are key, the ICT is a seamless approach and also offers the opportunity to have one interface and a unique commercial offering.
This ICT is made up of a number of companies with specialties dealing with Caisson issues. We’ve teamed together to provide a collaborative offering, cost efficient and value added turnkey solution for caisson related scopes and is made up of the following companies:
• GEG – Fabrication & Site Services – both Topside and Subsea
• Acotec – Solvent Free One-coat ‘Humidur’ coatings and underwater Cofferdams
• STATS – Caisson Securing and Lifting Tools
• GMC – Mechanical Connectors
• CETCO – Temporary Produced Water Systems • Cathelco – Cathodic Protection Systems
Under the theme of ‘Facing the Future’ and sponsored by Total E&P, the event welcomed leading Industry figures and welcomed Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon who delivered the keynote address.
Global Energy Group’s Client Relations Director, Terry Savage, also took to the mic to deliver the drinks reception speech. Terry commented; ‘The dramatic fall in oil price over recent years has meant our industry has faced significant challenges. It’s events like this that allow us to have a platform for showcasing and highlighting those that have shown successful evolution and how we might better arm ourselves for further difficulties ahead.’
This unique one-day event offered attendees the opportunity to hear from government, regulators, industry leaders and specialists on a wide range of topics including special focus sessions on: Industry Vision, Industrial Strategy, Investment Stimulation, Health, Safety and the Environment, Supply Chain Resilience and Competitiveness.
